Weight Loss can be achieved easily through exercise. You should also consider a healthy and balance diet that is free from saturated fat. Avoid sugary foods too.

Increase glutathione levels by taking a cold shower. Interesting! Never heard of it, but I know there are so many benefits from hydrotherapy and all that so I would not be surprised!

Nice post!

it is better to get the tap water cold and not hot for the above reasons. Then they can heat it up. This is common knowledge.

It might be common knowledge, but is it right? What is the benefit of drawing cold water, then heating it, from a health standpoint? You are still going to volatilize chemicals in the water. Perhaps you will get less substances leaching from your plumbing or water heater, but that's a different reason than above.

Sure, I bet the sea has some benefit - especially if it is 68 or below. A lot of what we know about cold water therapy comes from studies on winter swimmers - not that you need to do anything quite as intense as winter swimming. I find it is much easier to take a cold shower after working out, or sometimes right after waking up. Other than that, there is always a little initial discomfort to push through, but it feels good eventually!

This all makes sense if I could only bear to do it. But I do manage to go in the cold sea once a week so I wonder if that's enough to help. Also when I wash my hair I always rinse it in cold water as it makes hair shinier:) There, another good reason to take a cold shower. Thanks for the interesting info, Annabel

Hey, thanks for visiting! You really seem to know your stuff. That's interesting that gout patients tend to fear cold water. Can they get much relief from a cold foot bath, or do they need whole-body exposure?
